The Oscars 2008

Hooray! Johnny Depp was robbed again! Now I am not saying he necessarily deserved the Oscar for Sweeney Todd but how many times are they going to screw him out of an award? It seems to me that the Academy likes to ignore the people who really deserve the Oscar win and later on give it to them for something they didn’t really deserve it for. They should have just given Johnny Depp his Oscar for Pirates of the Caribbean and the debt would be payed.

Now they’ve screwed him out of a win what, two or three times? He’s going to be 60 in some piece’o movie and win the award because they’ve owed it to him for so long. Hardly the way the Academy Awards should be run in my opinion! And Daniel Day Lewis? Amazing actor, but did his performance beat out Johnny Depp’s in Pirates of the Caribbean? I think not!

No they weren’t up against each other for the two films respectively, but so what? JD should have gotten his tonight. They screwed Sean Penn on so many other movies they finally gave him his but JD didn’t get what was coming to him. Maybe next year.

Lost Season 4

Spoilers.

So why in the hell does Kate have Claire’s baby Aaron? And why does Jack have such a problem with seeing the kid. Also, my girlfriend made a comment that the baby looked like it may have Down Syndrome but I couldn’t see the kid well enough to tell. If so, could it be that that’s the reason it is hard for jack to see the baby? And also, did the baby end up with Down Syndrome once it left the island because it seemed perfectly normal in every way there.

Another burning question. Who was in the coffin? The “funeral” was in a black neighborhood so I am guessing that it might be Walt? Michael? Mr. Eko or someone from his family? Why was Kate so uninterested in attending the funeral yet Jack wasn’t?

Finally, and this question has been going on since Season 1. Who is John Locke? Seems to me like he might really be the General he was addressed as in Season 1. Could be a war games kind of thing, or maybe not…

9 months

It’s been 9 months since my last blog post so I figured it is high time I get a new post up, maybe two if I’m feeling ballsy. Things have changed a bit since Thanksgiving. My mom got married, I have a new job and I’ve done a handful of plays. I’ve closed three shows this year so far including Who Says This Isn’t Love and Global WARPing.

I spent a few weeks out on Camano Island doing work for a vaudeville legend Reverend Chumleigh in exchange for some help with my own vaudeville acts. I may need to start a blog dedicated entirely to my vaudeville stuff since it may be the only thing that is of much interest to the everyman reader.

Things are going well with me and my girlfriend of 4 years Lucia and I’m looking forward to spending the rest of my life with her. How about some movie reviews?

Homeless for the Holidays

A special shout out to those like me who aren’t getting to spend time with their families for the holiday. I don’t know about you but I think I’m gonna go get a turkey sandwich at Subway or something. Gotta have the turkey.

If you’re bumbed, just remember that it’s almost Christmas and it’s even worse to not be home for that! Go holiday orphans!

All aside there are a lot of things I’m thankful for and like the Charlie Brown special says, it’s really all about giving thanks today. And I am. Hope you all have a good dinner and good times!
