Tony Awards

In Blog on June 11, 2006 at 2:49 pm

I just found out the Tony Awards are tonight at 5:00 PST on CBS (Channel 7 here in Seattle).

Harry Connick Jr is up for Best Performance by a leading Actor in a Musical for the Pajama Game. I have always been a huge fan of Harry Connick Jr.

I’m also hoping to see a broadway actor I used to hang out with and went to acting school with. Chad Kimball. He isn’t up for anything but I would not be surprised to see him there.

OH! And my old place of work, Seattle’s very own Intiman is up for a Tony for a regional theatre award. TonyAward.com has the run down of all the other nominess.

The Tony’s are on eastern time so they already have their pre-show going, which you can watch from the site I believe.

It’s the 60th Tony Awards so I’m guessing it is going to rock.

Pugsley Video

In Blog on June 8, 2006 at 1:30 am

Here is the video of Pugsley who died on Tuesday. We buried him at my girlfriend’s grandmother’s house. He was one of the cutest things on earth and he is painfully missed. On the ride home from her grandmother’s I wished I’d had a camera with me. We saw a beautiful sunset, a really stunning one, and just above the multi hued horizon was a long white cloud that looked just like Pugs.

Skypecast

In Blog on June 7, 2006 at 9:56 pm

I am thinking about recording a skypecast in the near future. Probably about something pop culture related. Maybe an 80s film like The Goonies. Check back if you think you might want to participate, it’d be like a multi user podcast. NICE!

North Seattle

In Blog on June 7, 2006 at 7:33 pm

What is up with my neighborhood? Yeah it is two blocks off Aurora but man I have never heard so many cop and fire engine sirens anywhere in my life and I grew up in San Francisco.

And a few weeks back I was walking to AM/PM to get a Coke and on my way back these two creepy guys were sitting in a big white truck and this black guy all the sudden runs from it.

Luckily I was with a couple other people but we walked right by that truck, the driver looked like a serial killer, a nerdy old white serial killer. Bad vibes man, bad vibes!

Oh and a time before that the cops had cordoned off my hood looking for a couple of guys. Apparently they were threatening to shoot the two of them if they didn’t stop. They kept running and we had the K9 unit out here too. I miss Wallingford.

Labyrinth

In Blog on June 7, 2006 at 7:32 pm

I dug up an old Labyrinth FanFic I wrote back in 1997. It’s kind of embarassing but cool at the same time. I added a podcast of me reading it over to the right. Let me know what you think!

Pugsley

In Blog on June 6, 2006 at 9:04 pm

Our ferret Pugsley died today after struggling with insulinoma for the past couple of months. We have been force feeding him and giving him water for a while now and this morning he just wouldn’t open his mouth for food or water no matter what. He eventually passed away in my arms. We will miss him immensly.

I will have a video of him up from a month or two ago in a bit. Shit sucks sometimes.

Harry Potter Spoilers

In Blog on June 2, 2006 at 2:49 pm

We just finished the sixth Harry Potter book The Half Blood Prince last night and I have come up with my own ideas on what is going to happen in book the seventh. This post does contain spoilers so please don’t read it if you don’t want to know the outcome of The Half Blood Prince.

APARECIUM ! ! !

(Highlight the spoiler area below)

________

So right off, the number one thing I have thought about is Dumbledore’s death. Now this is the big climax of the book and as such leaves what happens next open to interpretation but here are some facts.

Dumbledore has stated repeatedly that he trusts Snape with his life. He is never in doubt of Snape’s loyalty. However, Snape is the one that kills him.

Anyone find it odd that Dumbledore made sure Harry couldn’t intervene on the attack? It could be that he wanted to protect Harry from getting himself killed, however I believe he was protecting Snape.

Here is interpretation:

Dumbledore and Snape are in on this together. The water (potion) Dumbledore drank in the cave to retrieve the Hoarcrux enabled him to withstand the curse Snape hit him with. Snape, being the Half Blood Prince and one of the best damn potion makers ever could have easily come up with something like this. Also, all the dead people in the water around the fountain hints that the potion has somethnig to do with death.

This was all planned out by Dumbledore and Snape before hand.

I do find it odd that if this were the case that Snape wouldn’t know Harry was there. And perhaps he did. Remember in the film when Harry is right in front of Snape in the invisibility cloak and he seems to know someone is in front of him? Maybe Snape knew Harry was there but the Death Eaters did not.

Either way, by Snape destroying Dumbledore he would gain Voldemort’s favor even more perhaps setting him up so that Snape and Harry can kill him in book seven.

Some other oddities I found were that Dumbledore seemed to beg Snape for his life. Very Un-Dumbledore. Also, the effects of the water in the cave caused Dumbledore to beg for his life, and made him fall unconcious with fright. Why would this effect happen again after it had disappated? It could be a trace effect, or something else. Odd how Dumbledore acted similarly when he faced Snape as when he was under the influence of the potion.

So, Book Seven may likely have Dumbledore back in action. Yes, you are thinking WISHFUL THINKING HARRY POTTER GEEK. To which I reply, DISSENDIUM BOOK 7 PLOT! Or wait and see what the path in book 7 reveals!

PS YOU’RE A GEEK!
